Choose the drinking setup

The Fontanello offers battery-powered operation, while the MealStream fountain and bowl uses a combined layout. Compare placement, cleaning access and power requirements. A fountain does not guarantee that every cat will prefer moving water.

Scheduled dry-food meals

The PawHut camera feeder uses an app and dispenses specified dry-food sizes. Test the actual output with your cat’s kibble and programme appropriate portions. A camera and schedule do not replace checking that food is delivered and your cat eats normally.

Keep bowls and mats distinct

A personalised bowl holds food or water; a feeding mat supports the surrounding setup. The mat is not supplied with the bowls shown in contextual images. Measure the whole arrangement before choosing its size.

Buy the matching filter

The Fontanello carbon filter is a separate model-specific part. Other fountain names and similar-looking cartridges do not establish compatibility. Read the variant label to distinguish a full fountain from a filter pack.

Let preference guide placement

Put drinking equipment where your cat can approach comfortably and keep an ordinary water option available when introducing a fountain. The Fontanello gives flexibility in placement through its battery design, but still needs charging, regular water checks and a cleaning routine.

Check portions with real food

Different kibble shapes can affect what a portion setting delivers. Test the automatic feeder with the food you actually use and weigh the output before relying on the programme. Review its Wi-Fi, power and backup details, and arrange normal care rather than treating the device as a substitute for someone checking your cat.

Compare stations carefully

A combined MealStream fountain and bowl and an adjustable feeding station provide different arrangements. Compare access, bowl depth, footprint and the individual cat’s comfortable position. Do not infer a medical benefit solely from a raised, tilted or ridged design.

Keep maintenance compatible

Will a fountain make every cat drink more?

No result is guaranteed for an individual cat. Introduce the Fontanello fountain alongside a familiar drinking option and keep monitoring normal water access and behaviour. Sudden changes in drinking need veterinary advice.
Can I use wet food in the camera feeder?

The PawHut camera feeder is designed for specified dry-food sizes, not wet food. Check the exact model’s requirements and test the dispensed amount with your own kibble.
Are all fountain filters interchangeable?

No. Match the exact fountain model. The Fontanello carbon filter is supplied for Fontanello, not as a universal cartridge for other fountains.
Does the named feeding mat include a bowl?

No. The personalised mat is a separate item. Choose the personalised bowl separately if you want both, and compare their dimensions before ordering.
How do I care for a fountain with electronics?

Follow the fountain’s instructions for separating and cleaning the pump, tank and other parts. Do not immerse electronic components unless expressly permitted, and continue checking water levels and filter condition.
