The right toy does more than fill a basket. It gives a dog something legal to chew, gives a cat a reason to hunt indoors, and turns a wet afternoon into a proper mental workout. Here you will find chew toys, fetch toys, wand and laser toys, snuffle mats, lick mats and food puzzles for dogs and cats of every size.
Chewer or chaser?
Watch how your pet actually plays before you buy. A dog that lies down and works at something with its back teeth is a chewer, and it needs solid rubber or nylon that will not shred, such as the ChewUp chew toy or a textured dental chew toy that cleans while it works. A dog that lives to run needs distance rather than resistance, so an automatic ball launcher or a self-propelled rolling ball will do far more good. Tuggers want something they can grip with a person on the other end, and a set like the tug toys 10-pack means you can retire one the moment it splits.
Rotate, do not buy more
Most homes have too many toys out at once, which is exactly why the dog ignores all of them. Keep three or four within reach, box the rest, and swap them on the same day each week. A toy that has been out of sight for seven days is interesting again, so a PetZynergy activity ball or a SmartPaw earns a second first impression instead of becoming part of the furniture. Food puzzles tire dogs
Sniffing, licking and problem-solving use a dog's brain in a way that another lap of the same park never will, and ten minutes of it before you leave the house often buys you a much quieter morning. Tip the daily ration into a carrot snuffle mat or a PetSniff activity mat instead of a bowl, spread something soft across a lick mat while you get ready, or make dinner last twenty minutes with a leaky feeder. Start easy so the first attempt ends in success, then make it harder over a fortnight.
Keeping indoor cats busy
Cats hunt in short bursts, several times a day, and a toy that only moves while you are holding it cannot cover all of that. Check every toy once a week and bin anything with a split seam, a loose squeaker or a chewed-off end, because the loose pieces are the danger rather than the toy itself. Size up for a strong jaw instead of buying the same small toy twice, put wand and string toys away between sessions, and stay in the room the first few times your pet meets something new such as the Purrnivo interactive hunting mat.
